Grandma got run over by a reindeer.......

Actually she just fell on a curb and broker her hip but you would think she was run down by a Mack Truck. If I have to hear "I just had major surgery because I broke my hip and IT HURTS" I will scream. Yes I am aware that you fell and broke your hip and I am sure that it hurts, it probably hurts VERY BADLY. I do feel bad that it hurts so much and that you are having to go through all of these life changing thoughts but can't give up on life because you have a pin and some screws in your body. This is the part I don't understand. She wants to get better and "go home" but she doesn't want to do the rehab that it takes to get there. "Don't you know I had major surgery and it hurts".
Backstory -- She has already been in the rehab center of the hospital but they said she is not ready to go home so they sent her to another rehab center, that happens to be located inside a nursing home. I thought this is great - she will see how it is inside a nursing home and get her butt in gear and start doing what the rehab people tell you. Well, that is starting to work!! She hates the nursing home but she still hates rehab so it's going to be a battle to see which one wins.

This past weekend Wilson and I made the 5 hour trip to San Angelo to check on her and to also look at some of the assisted living places that my Mom and her brother are looking at for her if she is not able to come home. Well we get to the nursing home and her and my Mom are in the hallway and my Mom walks over to us to greet us and take the dog.....I think she missed the dog more than she missed us....but I digress. My grandmother is sitting in a wheelchair and pushing with her feet (like walking) and moving the wheelchair towards us. So at this point she CAN move the wheelchair by herself in a walking motion which I believe is probably good for her. So she hugs us and turns the wheelchair around so we can walk down to her room and I almost run into the back of her wheelchair as she yells out "Auh, Tonya push me!"
